I’m Gil Guerra, an immigration policy analyst at the Niskanen Center. Points of Entry covers the questions I spend most of my time on: how immigration shapes American identity, how it affects our position in the world, and what it means for national security.

My work here is original data analysis and research. It’ll include historical census records, new population estimates, and emerging migration patterns. I publish sources and methods alongside my findings, and some projects include interactive dashboards so you can explore the data yourself.
